A personal ongoing comic where I explore everyday thoughts, emotions, and relationships through brief, character-driven episodes. Though early in its run, the series reflects my interest in tone, timing, and emotional pacing. Each post is a solo exercise in both writing and illustrating, helping me develop a more personal voice in visual storytelling.

Creating BeGoToon helped me explore how personal storytelling can connect with people online.
I didn’t just focus on drawing and writing, but also on how the content is received. I paid attention to posting time, carousel pacing, and even the tone of captions to see what works better.
Along the way, I tracked engagement patterns like saves, likes, reach, and early reactions. I tried adjusting my approach based on that feedback, learning how small changes in structure or wording could shift how people respond.
For me, this project became more than just a creative outlet. It was also a space where I could test ideas, understand platform behavior, and think about how to make emotional content clearer and more relatable.

The stories in Bego-Toon are usually based on emotions I’ve felt or things I’ve seen others go through. I try to keep them simple and honest, with a focus on connection and reflection. The episodes generally fall into a few recurring themes:

Be My Fan
Be My Fan is a solo game concept I developed and designed. While it hasn’t been prototyped or coded, I focused on building the world, characters, and mechanics through detailed planning and visual development. The project explores the idea of emotional progression in a relationship-based gameplay format.

[02] Core Concept & Intent
Inspired by the universal desire to be loved and understood, Be My Fan lets players safely explore self-expression and connection. Anonymity, character projection, and playful interaction make it easy to cheer for others, overcome shyness, and express support—even for those who find it difficult in real life.
Players begin their journey by discovering “emotion portals” in their actual location, stepping into the magical world of Harua, and customizing their animal-inspired avatar to reflect their feelings and personality. The game is designed to celebrate individuality while fostering a sense of belonging and emotional growth.

Fan Letters: Floating letters around the stage (and in the UI) act as tangible symbols of encouragement and support. Each letter can include a custom message, sticker, or voice note, and even affect the avatar’s emotional state.

Emotion System: As players make choices and interact, their avatar’s color palette, facial expressions, and even animation style will change—mirroring the player’s emotional progress.
